In case you missed it, Padded Tush Stats (PTS) tallied the votes and threw their annual Cloth Diaper Awards gala! Each year, PTS opens voting for a one month period, allowing cloth diaper users to vote for their favorites. What I love about this is that these votes are based upon hundreds, if not thousands of experienced cloth diapering parent opinions! Here is a recap of the 2013 award winners:
We transitioned from prefolds to fitteds when D was around 9 months old. While we’ve not tried Sustainablebabyish OBFs, we have tried, and loved, Wonderful Bambino bamboo fitteds (a more affordable option).
As you can see, Thirsties Duo Wraps were a big part of our stash in those early days. I like the fact that the covers aren’t bulky, and can adjust down for smaller babies (Declan’s under 7lbs. in the above picture). I would have to agree with this choice.
I’ve not used Thirsties Hemp Inserts (haven’t had a need to), but have used Thirsties Duo Hemp Prefolds…and absolutely love them! You can see a prefold comparison, including Thirsties Hemp, by clicking HERE.
Simply put, I’m not a fan of pocket diapers, no matter the brand.
We are about to venture into this uncharted territory, so Blueberry trainers will definitely be on the list. Sure-fire way to get your toddler to be ready to potty train? Buy 10 new diapers. *sigh*
While I’ve not tried the bumGenius Freetime, we do own a couple of bumGenius Elementals…and I’ve nothing bad to say about them. I will say, however, that our favorite AIO, now that D is a heavy wetter, is the Smart One by Smart Bottoms. I don’t have to add additional inserts to his Smart Bottoms. Thus, the purchase of new diapers referenced above….
I LONGED for a Planet Wise wet bag or pail liner, but it just wasn’t meant to be. No one purchased them from our registry, so I purchased some Wahmies liners and wet bags…and have been really happy with them. After 18 months, we’ve no need for any more.
Okay, I’ve not tried these wipes, but I have a feeling that they’re pretty similar to my favorite wipes: Charlie Banana Double Sided Cloth Wipes. Super soft, thick, and incredibly durable. You’ll want to chuck all of those cheapo fleece ones you’ve purchased and replace them with these!
Flat/Prefold of the Year: Cloth-eez (GMD)
Haven’t tried them, so I’ve nothing to say about them.
Diaper of the Year: Sustainablebabyish OBF
