What a beautiful weekend to attempt to break a world record! We were blessed with amazing weather here in Philadelphia, and were provided an unbelievably fun venue to take part in The Great Cloth Diaper Change: Smith Memorial Playground. Our hosts, The Nesting House, Diapers Plus, Inc., and CLOTH did an amazing job organizing the event. Inspired Family donated 100 swag bags, and there were over 20 cloth diaper, natural parenting, and family friendly raffle prizes for participants to win.
The turnout this year was incredible, with almost double the number of last year’s attendees (the venue definitely added more to the event)! I was excited for my husband to be able to attend with us, and had him do the ‘official’ diaper change. Without having to change my little guy’s diaper, I was able to be an official witness for the event, and am happy to report that Philadelphia contributed 54 cloth diapers changed to the overall world total! I would LOVE to see us hit 100 next year. Sadly, I won’t have a baby to cloth diaper next year, but hope that this event reaches even more cloth diapering families and converts a few non-cloth diapering families along the way.
We brought a Smart Bottoms Organic One Size All-in-One diaper for the Great Cloth Diaper Change. The Smart One 3.1 is one of my two top picks for heavy wetters, you can read my review of it HERE. To purchase the Smart One 3.1, I would love it if you ordered through my affiliate link HERE.
I attended at the Amber Sky location in St Louis, MO. We had 38 total diapers changed, and I changed into a cherry cola Nicki’s there was an awesome cotton babies basket raffled. The sighs and groans were quite loud when the number was read!
Yay! This reminds me, I need to go check the final tally. I’m not a lucky person, so I would have been one of the people groaning 😉
It looks like it was a lot of fun!
You should attend your local event next year!
How cool it that!?! Of course when my son was young, there weren’t any events like this that I was aware of. But I am sure there have been/will be some here now. I have 2 nieces that are expecting this year and I will sure make them aware of this event!
